BOONE, Iowa - A mild winter and a dry nesting season could mean more pheasants in Iowa this Fall.
But to make sure that's the case, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources will be conducting a pheasant count between August 1-15.
Iowa DNR Upland Wildlife Biologist Todd Bogenschutz told KXCV/KRNW that there may be a correlation between the pheasant population and weather.
Results of the count will be made available around September 1.
